It's like PHYSICAL THERAPY for your face.

Orofacial myofunctional therapy (“myo”) is just like physical therapy, designed to restore proper breathing and oral function through simple exercises focused on the muscles of the mouth, face, head, and neck.

What is Myofunctional Therapy?

Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy targets the oral motor muscles used to breathe, chew, and swallow. It is designed to treat and address the underlying causes of various disorders, such as: tongue tie, tongue thrust, incorrect tongue position, low tongue posture, open mouth posture, mouth breathing, thumb sucking, finger sucking, nail biting, clenching/grinding, TMJ pain, temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD), snoring, and sleep apnea.

Therapy utilizes exercises, awareness, and reduction of muscle compensation with the overarching goal to correct improper muscle movements to restore proper function.
